This rice mix is packed with a variety of good carbs along with their unique set of micronutrients. The five grains were specially chosen to balance taste, texture and nutrition. This is a firm and chewy mix, a great first introduction to upgrading your rice. This rice mix is higher in fibre and will help you feel more sustained after the meal.
This rice is a good substitute for plain brown rice in meal preps and helps add a variety of starches.
Contains brown rice, red rice, mung beans, millet, pearl barley (allergen in bold).
Feel free to dilute it further with white rice if you’re experimenting. When 5-Grain rice mix is cooked, it is a sienna hue. The mung beans will lose their colour and some will burst. This is okay.

Glutenous black rice porridge is eaten throughout South East Asia, and you may have seen it under the dessert section at your local Thai restaurant. The secret is: it's traditionally served for breakfast - we think it is a fantastic idea so we would like to share this with you.
Our porridge mix is a combination of Glutenous black rice and Glutenous white rice for a fluffy and soft porridge texture. We'd recommend you cook a little more than needed and keep it in the fridge to eat over a few days to save time on breakfast preparations - just scoop it out and heat it up in the microwave. It's perfect for rushed mornings, and you can sweeten it with syrup, agave, coconut sugar or brown sugar. Top it with fruits or nuts, flood it with plant milk (we vouch for coconut milk or coconut cream) and kids will love it. It is low GI, vegan and gluten-free.
*Yup, we know our label reads "pudding" - consider it as permission to eat pudding for breakfast. 😁

This is our elegant first-born - the first of the Grain Guru rice mixes. Korean medium grain is not your typical white rice; it keeps its shape once cooked and has a firm texture. It's slightly bigger than the sushi rice and has a faint scent. This a rice to try when you’ve truly mastered cooking white rice. It tastes beautifully on its own - the perfect blank canvas for the typical Korean table setting. We’ve decided to lace this with a bit of bulgar wheat.
Bulgar wheat gives, what would be blank carbs, a boost of protein and fibre. When cooked together, the bulgar wheat gives the rice a rich, yellow hue, which is why we’ve named this Grain Guru rice mix: Golden Era.£7.99 £12.99
In the class of rice, red rice is the A-student; rich in micro-nutrients, it's a cut above brown rice. It has a long, narrow grain with a burnt-orange coloured hull. Its chewy, al dente texture makes it an interesting companion in salads, curries and congee (rice soup). Mostly eaten in South and South East Asia, it can be eaten sweet or savoury.

Black rice is an attractive & exotic-looking grain, so it's no surprise it was once exclusively eaten by Ancient Chinese emperors - that's why it's sometimes called the Forbidden Rice. Most commonly found in South, South East and East Asian cuisine, black rice is known for its blackish-purple pigment which is known as anthocyanin and is found in other dark plants such as aubergine, blackberries and purple corn. This compound is getting a lot of attention these days because of its high anti-oxidant properties that are both fat and water-soluble.
With an earthy aroma, it's chewy & nutty flavour makes it perfect for Thai Black rice pudding , Black rice risotto, Black and White rice stir-fry or Black rice paella.

Unlike most other rice types, sushi rice is made up of short, round grains. When cooked, they are slightly sticky which makes them easy to form shapes for nigiri, maki, temaki and more. Sushi rice can be eaten plain, with a gravy or stir-fried. We love sushi rice because it's an incredibly versatile staple and can be eaten hot or cold.

Purple rice is not sticky and glutenous like Black rice and is slightly lighter in colour. The colour also leeches in cooking, giving it a royal purple finish (as opposed to black). This blackish-purple pigment is found in other dark plants such as aubergine, blackberries, acai berry and purple corn.
It can be eaten in place of white or brown rice as a nutritionally better choice. Another way is to mix a teaspoon of purple rice into your raw white rice (sushi, jasmine or parboiled) and change the rice into a bright purple colour for the kids to gawk over. We love making food fun to eat!
This product used to be called Wild Rice, however following some customer feedback we've decided to rename it to Purple Rice to avoid confusion any confusion with other wild rice varieties. Please accept our apologies in advance, should you receive a bag labelled Wild Rice- we are currently transitioning to the new label.

Rice noodles are lighter in taste and are more delicate to handle than wheat noodles. Other than that, they can do everything wheat noodles can! When rice is hulled and milled, it becomes as versatile as flour. It can withstand a longer duration in heated soups and hot oil in your beloved pho or stir-fry ho fan. They grow about 20% once cooked and are milky white. Can be eaten hot or cold after its been rehydrated.
Grain Guru loves rice noodles because they're great in soups and stir-fried, hot or cold.
